NAVFAC is pleased to post the allocated funding for FY 2010 to include military construction projects for the Air Force, Navy and DoD as well as the Fiscal Year 2010 Construction Program for the Marine Coprs Relocation effort. NAVFAC has released a request for interested A&E firms to submit their SF330 – Architect and Engineer Qualifications for various projects funded by the Government of Japan (GoJ) for the development of infrastructure and facilities covered by the Defense Policy Review Initiative (DPRI). In addition, we have posted two Total Small Business Sources Sought Notices for "Professional Services for Construction Mangement and Surveillance" and "Construction of Structures and Facilities" in support of the Guam Military Build-up Initiative. Guam Industry Forum III Draws 1,479 AttendeesThe Joint Guam Program Office (JGPO) and Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) hosted 1479 attendees at the Guam industry Forum III which was held in Guam on April 28, 29 and 30th. Representatives from industry and government converged on the island to hear updates related to the design, construction and logistics support requirements for the relocation of Command, Air, Ground and Logistics units of the III Marine Expeditionary Force from Okinawa, Japan to Guam USA. Opening speakers on day one of the Forum included The Honorable B.J. Penn, Acting Secretary of the Navy, The Honorable Madeleine Z. Bordallo, Guam’s Delegate to Congress, and the Honorable Felix P. Camacho, Governor of Guam. Mr. David Bice, Executive Director of the Joint Guam Program office (JGPO) opened a series of informative sessions by providing an update on the overall planning efforts for the proposed Guam build-up. Captain Louis Cariello, Operations Officer for Naval Facilities Engineering Command Pacific (NAVFACPAC) provided an overview of the overall NAVFAC Execution Plan and Acquisition Strategy. Throughout the first two days of the Forum, a series of 9 sessions were presented by subject matter experts and teams on various subjects including:
Due to space limitations, the Forum was staged from three different hotels with presentations alternating between the venues. Each of the hotel ballrooms had audio and visual connections in real time through a fiber optic system specially designed for the event. At the end of each session, attendees were provided the opportunity to comment and ask questions related to the presentations from whichever venue they were at. A networking mixer was held on the evening of the first day of the forum attracting over 1100 attendees. National and international businesses both large and small converged on the Hyatt Hotel for an evening of business card exchanges and introductions setting the stage for future teaming relationships. The last day of the forum was highlighted by a series of Acquisition Training Sessions conducted by NAVFAC and One-on-One Sessions between NAVFAC, SME’s and industry representatives to discuss innovative ideas related to build-up strategy.
